As we near the beginning of the 2023 NFL season, I wanted to take some time to shed light on 3 quarterbacks in the league who have been ultimately, counted out... but don't deserve to be!
Jacoby Brissett- (WAS Commanders)
Jacoby Brissett is strong, guys and gals. He's got size, patience to see the whole field, and a mobility/elusiveness that allows him to hold on to the ball until he turns a broken play into a gainer. He was impressive without many tools in Miami... and looked solid in Cleveland WITH loads of talent, but WITHOUT an amazing system. 👀 Watch Jacoby in D.C.
Jimmy Garoppolo - (LV Raiders)
SILENCE!!! If he wins in Oakland, on the other side of the bay... err, I mean Vegas... you'll all gotta stop! He's going to have Devonte Adams, Josh Jacobs & Hunter Renfroe. As long as the play calling matches the talent, Jimmy is gonna look just fine in the city of lights. Vegas, baby!
Baker Mayfield - (TB Buccaneers)
Ok, so his first few throws in camp... whatever. Cleveland didn't end well... Carolina? Let's not talk about it. But admit it: you had fun with him filling in for Matthew Stafford in LA towards the end of the year. When you give him some weapons and let the man cook (play ball, for us older folk), Baker can really put some fun stuff together. He's passionate, loves the game and leaves it all on the field. By week 11, I think all Tampa fans may just be saying TB-who?? Especially if they can forge ahead in an NFC South that's 100% "up for grabs" this year. 👨🍳
